I have traveled in and out of Canada quite a bit in the past two years. Usually flying between Calgary, Alberta and London, England. My favourite Canadian airline is Westjet for many reasons.

Amazing customer service

Best customer service, and they care about the customers.

When ever I have had to change flights, they have helped me quick and efficiently. They answer all my questions and help me find the best deal. There was a case when I was changing flights after the 24 hour time slot for changing. Usually if you change your flight after 24 hours of booking you are charged $100 CAD on top of any possible extra charges for the flight cost. The person who helped me was so nice and ended up waiving the fee instead and put the $100 difference in flight cost in my WestJet Bank (each customer has a WestJet 'bank' that instead of getting refund you can use it another time). It was so kind of them to do this and I was able to use the $100 on a future flight.

April 2018 my boyfriend and I were flying back to London, England from Calgary and there were some issues with our flight. After waiting hours, and being put on the plane, then taken back off a couple times. The flight was eventually cancelled for 24 hours which was fine for us but upsetting for a lot of the other passengers. To compensate for the issues, WestJet gave us a hotel room (a nice one at that), as well as I believe $100 to $200 CAD worth of food vouchers. They dealt with the situation very well, we ended up getting an extra day in Canada, and got on the flight the next day.

Prices and Seat Sales

WestJet's prices are in my opinion are really good. I just recently booked to go to Canada in December, over Christmas. Most would think travelling at Christmas would be super expensive, and don't get me wrong it's not cheap. But, for my boyfriend and I to fly to Canada and back it was just under $2000 CAD and approx £1200 GBP. Not bad for two people round trip and at Christmas time. The only downfall is that they aren't direct flights but, we get to enjoy an afternoon and over night stay in Toronto.

WestJet does have direct flights from London Gatwick airport the only England airport that works with WestJet. Of course, they are an international airline that fly too many airports all over the world. In Canada they fly from Calgary, Edmonton and Toronto international airports and many many more all over the country, as it is a Canadian airline.

Ease of booking, checking in and customer service

WestJet App

I absolutely love the app and how handy it is for booking and checking into flights. It is very organised and makes travelling with WestJet easy. You have access to trips that have been booked, previous trips taken, making a booking and much more.

Call in or Book online

There are two ways to book with WestJet, either online or by phone. Both ways are easy and straight forward. You will always get the best deal. Sometimes when I book, I will go online and then call them to ensure I get the best deal.

Loyalty Program

WestJet has a both a rewards program for their everyday customers as well as they have a RBC WestJet credit card. The WestJet Rewards Program includes different tiers of teal, silver, gold and the upcoming platinum. Each tier has its own perks and benefits.

TEAL:

On flight services

WestJet Connect and Wifi

(not available on all aircrafts)

Once on board a WestJet flight passengers will get access to WestJet Connect via the app. It gives passengers access to entertainment, internet and flight information. To get full premium access to wifi to be able to stream, email and much more. Passengers can pay a small fee for certain time limits. This is great for long haul flights.

Food and Menu options

Airplane food can only be so good and typically when I fly, I get food in the airport for during the flight. The one thing I do like on the WestJet menu is there snack box.

WestJet has food for everyone, children, diabetic, gluten intolerant, Hindu (non vegetarian), Kosher, Muslim, non-lactose and vegan.
